They called this a self evident truth. 87 years later, Abraham Lincoln reaffirmed this idea on the Civil War battlefield of Gettysburg. And in 1963 these same words echoed from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial as Martin Luther King, Jr. urged America to fulfill the promise of its founding.
But humans are separated by enormous differences in talent and circumstance. Why would anyone believe that all men are created equal? That all should be free? That all deserve a voice in choosing their leaders? Why would any nation consider this a self-evident truth?
For the millions around the world who have never tasted liberty the question cries for an answer. And the answer it gives is the ingredient to a true free, virtuous and prosperous society.

Oil Spills, Crises, and E-Government
There has been a great effort to mislead the public regarding the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. It has now come out that the ‘live feed’ of the leak is of a smaller leak, about 5-6 miles away from the one that is spewing about 100 000 barrels of oil into the Guf every day. Last Wednesday, May 28, BP made and attempt at the ‘top kill’ method of pumping drilling mud into the hole and claimed soon after that this was somewhat working.
But on MSNBC, Nicholas Pozzi of WOW Energy Solutions said the probability of top-kill working is low, may also cause explosion and blow top off, making it worse. Have not put an o-ring in it, so they are basically just pumping mud into the water.( An O-ring is a mechanical gasket to join 2 parts together, creating a seal.)

May 29 it was revealed that the top kill method has failed, as anticipated by Mr. Pozzi.

Ixtoc 1 Oil rig blowout of 1979
Drilling mud being replaced with seawater (in this case accidentally, as opposed to the intentional replacement of it at Deepwter Horizon, overseen by Haliburton) led to the blowout of this rig in the Gulf of Mexico in 1979. All methods of stopping the leak failed except for drilling a release well. You would think something would have been learned by the oil industry from this experience, but BP is nonetheles attempting all the methods that failed at Ixtoc 1.

Simmons Says Government Should Take Over BP Oil Clean Up: Video
May 28 (Bloomberg) — Matt Simmons, founder and chairman emeritus of Simmons & Co., talks with Bloomberg’s Mark Crumpton and Lori Rothman about BP Plc’s leaking oil well in the Gulf of Mexico.
BP said in a statement today that it has spent $930 million responding to the spill, which began after an April 20 rig explosion that killed 11 workers. The well has been spewing an estimated 12,000 to 19,000 barrels of oil a day into the Gulf, a U.S. government panel said yesterday. (Source: Bloomberg)
